Club champions TTV Stiphout 2019
At the end of January the TTV Stiphout Club Championships were played again.
On Wednesday January 23 the recreationists played their Club Championships. There were 14 participants. Under the watchful eye of tournament leader Mick van Hoof, they played many sporting and often exciting matches, in which Roland Robinson eventually became club champion of the recreational players and therefore also the 1e won the men's recreants prize. Bep Gouweloos won the 1e price among the ladies recreants.

On Saturday January 26 it was the turn of the youth members of TTV Stiphout. Tournament leader Han van de Poel had divided the 16 participants into four groups of 4, after which a division was made into a main round and a consolation round.
After these rounds, semi-finals and placement matches were played, after which the
final followed. This was played by Stijn Smits and Ben Visser (teammates of Stiphout 1). It was super exciting, and the audience was completely silent. It went right on, and in the 5e game it even became 11-11. In the end, Ben Visser managed to win 13-11. He became overall Youth club champion and Club champion with the boys and 1e in the Junior Boys.

Club champion with the girls and also 1e prize in the girls juniors was Zenne van Rooij.

On Sunday January 27 the Senior Club Championships were played. There were 20 participants. Participant Frenklin van der Burgt was also in charge of the tournament. That probably cost him the necessary attention 😉
It started with 4 groups of 3 and 2 groups of 4. The numbers 2 of the groups of 3 and the numbers 2 and 3 of the groups of 4 then played an intermediate round. The winners of these went to the main round, as well as the winners of the groups. The losers entered the consolation round. There were then 2 pentathlons in the main round and 2 pentathlons in the consolation round. The semi-finals in the main round were Carlo Seelen against Peter Bruurs and Mick van Hoof against Youth Club Champion Ben Visser. Peter and Mick won their matches, so the final was known. Many wonderful rallies between striker Peter and defender Mick were played. In the end, Peter Bruurs won the title of Club Champion for the first time, replacing Frenklin, who had won the previous 2 editions. Carolien van de Kerkhof became Club Champion in the women's competition and took over from Wilma van Hoof.
Afterwards it was still nice Chinese bites for the enthusiasts.
