After two years due to known circumstances, the Oliebollen Tournament could finally take place again on Sunday, January 8, 2023 in TTV Stiphout. This was combined with the New Year's reception.
More than 40 participants took part in the first tournament of the year, there was never such a high turnout. Both youth and seniors were well represented this edition. Under the leadership of Jasper and Joris, as many matches as possible were played. Between the parties, Carla provided the delicious donuts and Walter provided the drinks, for which both thank you very much!
The final of the Oliebollen Tournament was between Carlo and Peter. A full house eventually saw Peter come out on top.
The New Year's reception was ushered in by our chairman Erwin. He started by honoring the jubilarians. Bastiaan and Jan have both become members for 5 years, Hans have been members for 10 years and Ruud and George have been members for 40 years.
This was followed by the honoring of the champions of the past season. In the youth Liang, Loek, Corinna and Nicolás had become champions in the Juniors J3. Among the seniors, men 1 consisting of Ben, Jörgen, Peter and Carlo had become champion in the 1st class and men 4 with Mick, Frenklin, Tim and Jean-Louis champion in the 3rd class. Furthermore, Bastiaan, Tomislav and Ario became champions in the 2nd class of the TLE.
After this it was the turn of the Oliebol of the year. This edition, the Oliebol was determined by seeing who averaged the most points in each set. As a result, Lex was very lucky to receive the coveted title of 'Oil Bulb of the Year'.
Finally, Arthur was named Member of Merit for his years of commitment to youth training. Together with an enthusiastic group of students, TTV Stiphout is very proud of Arthur and his work within the club.
It was a hugely successful tournament with a very pleasant New Year's reception. Thank you to everyone who registered and to the volunteers who made it a great event. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
