While it was 30+ degrees outside, the Stiphouse table tennis center competed for the challenge cups of the Top 12. This tournament has been played for almost 30 years and the high level and number of matches make it a perfect preparation for the new competition. The temperature at sauna height also rose in Stiphouse: from 22.5 degrees at the start to 26 degrees at the end of the tournament.
Many great and exciting matches were played and we also saw a lot of talent among the youth players. Ultimately, Ryan Sanders and Liang Deiss played the final of the youth tournament. Despite the heat, the players opted for a 'best-of-seven' match that Ryan ultimately won 4-2. After the club championship, Ryan takes the 'double'.
The seniors also made it exciting. The final was between Peter Schuurhof and Carlo Seelen. In a 'best-of-five' the odds flew back and forth and Peter was ultimately the winner. He narrowly defeated Carlo in 5 games.
